Safety of all participants is the first priority
The Slovenian police have also played an important role in the development of the race into an international spectacle, and will of course continue to ensure the safety of all participants this year. Security will be improved in all respects, this year also with air surveillance, which will be carried out by the police in cooperation with the Slovenian Civil Aviation Agency. Here are some tips for a more peaceful race experience.
Police officers on motorbikes and in cars will once again be monitoring the caravan and, together with the race marshals, will ensure that the race runs smoothly and safely. This year, the helicopter unit will also be involved in security, so they will have an even better view of all the action.
Together with the Civil Aviation Agency of the Republic of Slovenia, the police will also keep an eye on the traffic above the race. The use of drones is prohibited at the race, again mainly for safety reasons, as broadcast and police helicopters will be flying above the race.
The 30th Tour of Slovenia will visit all neighboring countries where the police doesn’t have authority. However, in cooperation with partners from Austria, Croatia, Italy and Hungary, security will also be provided there.
There will be numerous road closures during the race, the longest in the towns hosting the start and finish of the stages. Elsewhere, the closures will be short-lived and will not have a significant impact on traffic.
All race-goers are urged to follow the instructions of the police and marshals and to arrive in good time for the race. This is especially important for stage 4 finishing at Krvavec.
