On Saturday, June 7, 2025, passionate road cyclists will have the opportunity to experience a race in true professional style. Following a scenic course through the idyllic Savinjska region, you can test your cycling power on a section of the Queen Stage (Stage 4: Maribor–Golte) and, on the same day as the pros, feel what it’s like to be part of the Tour of Slovenia peloton. Experience the thrill of victory as you cross the finish line and enjoy the unique atmosphere before welcoming the professionals as they arrive at Golte.
The My Tour of Slovenia recreational event will have a mass start at 9:00 AM in Mozirje’s town square, with the finish line near the cable car station at Golte. The 81.9 km route features nearly 2,000 meters of elevation gain and will take place on closed roads, accompanied by police escort for maximum safety.
The race will start along the Savinja River, heading towards Nizko, where a neutralized section will ensure safety for all participants before the official race start at Kilometer 0. The picturesque course then continues through Ljubno ob Savinji toward Luče, before heading to the first mountain summit at Kranjski Rak (5.1 km at an average gradient of 8.4%). The fastest male and female climbers will be crowned winners of this special classification.
Next, a short but technically challenging descent leads to Črnivec, where the first refreshment station will be located at approximately kilometer 35. The course then passes through Kamnik municipality, continuing via Nova Štifta and Gornji Grad toward Nazarje, where the final refreshment station awaits before the decisive climb to Golte. This 13.8 km ascent features an average gradient of 7.4%, with some sections exceeding 12%. The breathtaking panoramic views at the summit will be a well-earned reward for all participants.
