BEST host of 26th edition of Tour of Slovenia

Competition among hosts will surly be strong again this year, and Kamnik will have to go over the top again to defend the title.

BEST host of Tour of Slovenia competition will take place for the second time. Every host city – 29 in total – will enter the competition, no matter if the host the start or the finish, or one of the intermediate sprints. Competition will take place in two stages, with votes from the press, fans and finally the jury deciding on the winner.

The award for the BEST host city is replica of the 5200 Wheel, the oldest known wheel in the world. Same trophy that is 3D printed after the wheel that was found in Ljubljana marshes will also go in the hands of the overall race winner.
In the first round the members of the media will put their votes in select the venue that was the best according to their standards. Only the journalists, editors and photographers that were present on the race will have the right to vote. Fans will also do their vote via online form. Criteria for voting will be: general impression of the destination, hospitality, promotion of the host on the race, involvement of the local community and atmosphere among fans.

We’ll get three finalists after first round, and then it will be up to the jury to decide on the winner. Jury will include members of the OC and race partners, with Drago Bulc, renowned tourism journalist, taking the role of the jury president.

First round of the competition will take place from 19th till 23rd June, the winner of the BEST host competition will be announced on 28th June 2019.
