The Fight for Green in 2027 and a New One-Day Race

The 33rd edition of Tour of Slovenia will take place from June 17 to 20, 2027, with the four stages once again connecting a large part of Slovenia. A new event on the race week’s calendar is the new Premium Alpine Race, which is certain to have an interesting impact on the competitive dynamics on Slovenian roads. With a larger overall “pot” of UCI points at stake, both races will also be very attractive to riders and teams.

The Tour of Slovenia will have of four stages, which will be revealed later during the winter, and will again connect a large part of Slovenia. “UCI has given us the desired date in the second half of June, when Slovenia is at its greenest. The timing is favourable for all teams that want to complete their final preparations before the Tour de France, and we believe that the timing just before the summer holidays is also good for all Slovenian fans,” explained Bogdan Fink, race director.

New One-Day Race: Premium Alpine Race
Bled and the Turracher Höhe pass will be connected by the new challenging one-day UCI C1.1 race, which will in a way replace one stage of the race, while at the same time allowing riders and teams to compete for a larger number of UCI points. The race and the first stage of the Tour of Slovenia will be separated by a rest day, which will be ideal for presenting the final details of the Slovenian stage race.

Cycling club Novo mesto will also organize Grand Prix Novo mesto in the March of 2027, a race that has already established itself as a true Slovenian spring classic.

Professional cycling races organised by Cycling club Novo mesto:
28 March 2027 — Grand Prix Novo mesto (UCI C1.2)
15 June 2027 — Premium Alpine Race (UCI C1.1)
17–20 June 2027 — Tour of Slovenia (UCI ProSeries, 2.Pro)
