INEOS Grenadiers will race on 30th Tour of Slovenia
Another big name joins the already amazing lineup of teams entering 30th edition of the Tour of Slovenia (12-16 June). INEOS Grenadiers will be seventh WorldTour team on the race.
The British team needs no introduction, cycling fans know the squad for their numerous victories at the biggest races, most notable are of course back-to-back Tour de France victories. They have lost their dominant position as other teams have progressed, but they are always right at the top and their riders are one to watch on every race day.
The team was formed in 2009, initially under the name Team Sky. The name of the new sponsor INEOS was introduced in 2019, and Grenadiers was added in 2021. Exactly who will be racing for the team on this year's Slovenian tour is not yet known, but the team is certainly returning to Slovenia with high goals and not just to admire the beauty of Slovenia. In 2015, Mikel Nieve finished second overall for Team Sky, at the time he's only beaten by Primož Roglič.
The 30th Tour of Slovenia will have a total of 23 teams on the start, including seven WorldTeam teams.
