18th Tour of Slovenia for Radoslav Rogina

18th Tour of Slovenia for Radoslav Rogina

Team Adria Mobil Cycling is the most successful team in the history of Tour of Slovenia. It raced on all editions to date and under different names won overall five times. It also holds 15 stage victories. Team aims high also in 2017 and wants one of their own in the top ten.

Radoslav Rogina is absolute record holder when it comes to number of performances on Tour of Slovenia – he was already racing on 18 editions of this stage race! Second place – with 13 races – is strongly in the hands of Jure Golčer. They both race for Adria Mobil Cycling, which makes the Slovenian team the most experienced one as far as Slovenian tour is concerned. Racing on Tour of Slovenia is a big challenge for Adria Mobil, same as for all other Slovenian riders and teams. Adria is the most successful team in the history of the race, but taking a stage or overall victory is getting harder and harder with each season. Every year we see better riders in Slovenia, many that are in the top of the professional elite.

Team coach Boštjan Mervar: “We’ll start Tour of Slovenia with mixed feelings. We had a pretty bad start of the season and we now want to show a lot on the biggest Slovenian race. After the last races of Radoslav Rogina and health issues of Jure Golčer we know that we can’t be in the very top of overall rankings. I expect a top ten finish. I have higher hopes for individual stages, mostly in the sprints. Our favorites there are Dušan Rajović and Gašper Katrašnik. Dušan was already really fast on Tour of Croatia, Gašper is right now in the very good form and with some luck he can make it to the podium.”
