5 unique trophies for 5 stage winners
Overall race winner will be awarded with replica of the Wheel 5200, but special trophies also await for the stage winners. Let's take a look at them.
Stage 1 – ROGAŠKA SLATINA
The deep grinders of the prestigious Diamond cup create highlights that will impress you - whether you adore timeless classics or modern elegance.
The traditional V-grinder is an eternal classic in the world of crystal, as it gives very rich visual effects, while at the same time acting gently and subtly. In the Diamond cup, such a grindstone also shines through the plate at the bottom, which is a real rarity in ground glass.
With its timeless elegance, the trophy will bring the recipient beautiful moments and cultivate fond memories for many years to come.
Stage 2 – CELJE
The finish line for the second stage of the Tour of Slovenia 2021 will be at Celje's Old Castle. The magnificent fortress was the seat of the most renowned and influential dynasty with original estates in the territory of today's Slovenia – the Counts of Celje who reached the ranks of the Princes of the Holy Roman Empire. In the short period of their reign in the 14th and 15th century, this ambitious and highly successful dynasty left an indelible mark as they relied on cunning policy and strategically calculated marriages to constantly expand their wealth, influence, and power. Their ascent was meteoric; yet the treacherous murder of Ulrich of Celje in Belgrade brought it to a miserable end. Today, the three golden stars against blue background remind us of the glorious period of the town on the Savinja River, which helped shape the mediaeval Europe.
The knight presented to the winner of the 2nd stage of the Tour of Slovenia symbolizes power, authority, and the greatness of the Counts and Princely Counts of Celje. The pride of the people of Celje lives to this day, and the spirit of the mighty reign of the Celje dynasty will persist forever. Those who appreciate and respect their roots can spread their wings wide on their way into a bright future.
Stage 3 – KRŠKO
A recognizable symbol is a line that, in a unique rhythm, alternation, interweaving, vital movement, travel and exploration, intertwines and connects into a circular, point shape. This follows the artistic form of the symbol of energy - the atom, but moves away from it so much that the interpretation can also include symbols of flowers, details from Krško architecture, hilly landscape, Sava, hiking trails, cycling trails, etc.
The word energy semantically refers to the production for which the city is known, and to the vitality we feel within ourselves when we discover something new and look for sports or cultural experiences in a positive mood. At the same time, the slogan subtly but clearly communicates that the town of Krško is the one that enables and offers its residents and visitors a feeling of this exceptional life force, which is brought by positive experiences and concern for the enrichment of the individual.
Stage 4 – NOVA GORICA
The plaquette for the winner of the 4th stage of the Tour of Slovenia 2021 is entirely made of wood. Wood represents the cultural heritage of Solkan carpentry and woodworking in the Goriška region in general. The central part is made with a marquetry technique in several colors. The picture shows the Solkan field and the River Soča flowing under the famous Solkan bridge. In the background there is a cyclist climbing Sveta gora, which indicates the goal of the stage. The marquetry is placed on a maple wood passe-partout and a walnut frame. At the bottom of the marquetry there is a wooden tile with an engraved inscription Tour of Slovenia 2021 4th stage Ajdovščina – Nova Gorica 1st place June 12th 2021.
On the back of the passe-partout three logos are engraved (Municipality of Nova Gorica, Nova Gorica School Centre and Carving, Marquetry and Restoration Society of Solkan) and the name of the author of the conceptual design and the mentor.
Stage 5 – NOVO MESTO
Winner of the final stage of this year's Tour of Slovenia will get the Situla of Novo mesto. Bronze situlae are the most important archaeological findings and reason that put Novo mesto among the most important prehistoric sites. Situlae art, which began to flourish in the 7th century BC in northern Italy, south-east Alpine region and Istria, was interrupted by Celtic invasion of these territories. Its importance lies in the artistic depiction of human and animal figures that were hammered out and engraved into thin sheets of bronze. These artefacts represent part of Slovenia's most important and valuable archaeological heritage. In Novo mesto – The Town of Situlae – 18 bronze situlae have been excavated to date, nine of which are figurally decorated. Its rich history has given the town its name NOVO MESTO, The Town of SITULAE.
