Tadej Pogačar will race on Tour of Slovenia

Team UAE Team Emirates has confirmed that Tadej Pogačar will race on the 27^th edition of the Tour of Slovenia (9-13 June).

Tour de France winner will not only race on the biggest Slovenian race, but also on the criterium in Komenda that is named after him, and Slovenian national road cycling champs.

Tadej Pogačar: “I’m really excited that I’ll return and race on the Slovenian roads. I had a lot of obligations since my last race in Liege, but I’m feeling good and I’m ready for my new challenges. Last time I was racing Tour of Slovenia, I helped my teammate Ulissi to take the overall victory. I’m now coming to Slovenia with the goal to defend the victory for my team. I’m delighted to be coming home – this is the race I would like to win for myself.”

Tadej won white jersey of the best young rider on the 2019 Tour of Slovenia edition, as we see he’s now going for the green jersey of the overall winner. He already finished the race in 5^th and twice in 4^th place overall. 2020 edition of the race was cancelled.

Tour of Slovenia will start on 9^th of June in Ptuj and finish just above 800 kilometers and 5 days later in Novo mesto. UAE Team Emirates and three more UCI World Tour teams will race, in total there will be 20 teams on the start. Live broadcast of the race will take place on Eurosport and Slovenian national television.
