Ljubljana’s dragon for the winner of 2nd stage

Ljubljana's Dragon Bridge is one of the most famous bridged in the city. Constructed in the years 1900 and 1901 over the river Ljubljanica, it was Ljubljana’s first reinforced concrete structure. The bridge and the dragons were designed by the architect Jurij Zaninović.

Symbol of the Slovenian capital, and sentinel of the iconic Emperor Franz Josef Jubilee Bridge, Ljubljana’s dragon is comfortably the city’s most recognizable resident. Not only does he perch, with teeth bared and wings spread, on all four corners of the aforementioned arch, but his image also appears on the town’s coat of arms, flag, river walls, manhole covers, and even on the crest of the local soccer team. And one more humorous insert – people of Ljubljana often say that the dragon is also a symbol of all mothers-in-law…

Winner of 2^nd stage with start and finish of Ljubljana will be awarded with a trophy in the shape of the Ljubljana’s dragon. Mayor of Ljubljana Zoran Jankovič will present the trophy to the winner.
