Esteban Chaves will race in Slovenia
Australian team Mitchelton–Scott has send the provisional lineup for the upcoming Tour of Slovenia. We’re excited to welcome Colombian Esteban Chaves for the first time ever on the Slovenian roads. Luka Mezgec is also confirmed for the race.
164 centimeters high and 55 kilograms heavy cyclist from Bogota is surly one of the favorites for the overall victory. He’s a specialist for hard stage races and is fresh from Giro where he won 19th stage with the finish to San Martino di Castrozza. In 2016 he took 2nd overall on Giro and 3rd on Giro.
This means that we’ll have five cyclists that together won six stages on Giro.
Slovenian fans will be glad to hear that Luka Mezgec is also confirmed for the team; he’ll be also one of the top contenders for the sprints. Luka won stage with finish in Ljubljana back in 2017 and surly aims for new top result on the home race.
