Fabio Aru will NOT be one of the biggest stars on the race

UAE Team Emirates is bringing the real dream team to the Tour of Slovenia and surly with one of the strongest lineups for the overall victory. First star of the team will be Fabio Aru, who will be racing together with Jan Polanc and Tadej Pogačar. UPDATE: Aru will not race Tour of Slovenia afterall, the team will still be very strong.

Jan Polanc shone on the Giro, Tade Pogačar even before that on Tour of California.

Italian Fabio Aru is however one of the biggest stars of cycling and one of the biggest names on the 2019 Tour of Slovenia. He’s a specialist for hard stage races, with number of great results under his belt. He’s second overall on Giro d’Italia in 2015, only Alberto Contador was stronger that year. He did good on Tour the France as well, especially in 2017 when he took fifth place overall. He won three stages on Giro and two more on Vuelta.

It will be interesting to see the team tactics on the race. Will the team management bet on their star Aru or young and motivated Pogačar, who is on its way to the very top.
