Mark Cavendish is coming back to Tour of Slovenia
One of the best sprinters of the recent years is coming back to Tour of Slovenia! Mark Cavendish, aka Manx Missile, is recovering from the serious illness and is going to test his form on Slovenian race. Ex world champion and winner of 30 stages on Tour de France will be in the spotlight of the global audience. Of course we all want that he shows all his strength on the Slovenian roads.
Team Dimension-Data has released the names of all team riders that will race on Tour of Slovenia. Team’s Sports Director Roger Hammond also confirmed to CyclingNews that Cavendish is going to race in Slovenia. One of the most successful riders of all times was diagnosed with Mononucleosis in the early spring. One week ago the team announced that he’ll race on the British national championships. Everything in this period – including the Tour of Slovenia – is directed towards one goal, Tour de France. It’s still not sure if the Brit will race on the biggest cycling event or not.
Mark Cavendish has to rest since March this year, and nobody has the final answer about when he’ll be totally recovered. Epstein-Barr virus that causes this illness is unpredictable. We hope that Mark will show his best on the Slovenian roads and will give his competitors a run for their money. Mark already raced on the Tour of Slovenia, but he never won.
