Jerseys Worn by the Best Riders at the Tour of Slovenia

Green, white, and blue in two shades are the four colors that will be worn by the leading cyclists at this year's Tour of Slovenia. Take a look at what each jersey represents, how riders can win it, and who the classification sponsors are.

Green Jersey – General Classification (Overall Time Standings)

From a mathematical perspective, this is the simplest classification in the race. The green jersey is awarded to the rider with the lowest cumulative time. After the first stage, it will be worn by the stage winner, and thereafter by the overall race leader. Stage winners and intermediate sprint winners also receive time bonuses, which can affect the final standings.

The rider leading the points classification is the cyclist who accumulates the most points at stage finishes and intermediate sprints. The stage winner receives 25 points, second place 20, third place 16, and so on down to fifteenth place, which earns 1 point. At intermediate sprints, points are awarded to the first three riders: 5, 3 and 1 point.

Stage 2: Ptuj, Zavrč


Stage 3: Slovenska Bistrica, Laško


Stage 4: Škofja Loka, Bled, Tarvisio


Stage 5: Šmartno pri Litiji, Trebnje, Mokronog

Stage 1 will also feature two special bonus intermediate sprints in Štore and Spodnji Vrh. The winners of these sprints will receive a cash prize.

The winner of the mountains classification is the rider who collects the most points at categorized climbs. This jersey is also known as the King of the Mountains jersey.


Riders earn points at climbs of different categories: HC (Hors Catégorie): Points awarded to the first eight riders. The winner receives 15 points, second 12, third 10, etc.

Category I: Points awarded to the first five riders. The winner receives 10 points, second 8, third 6, etc.

Category II: Points awarded to the first three riders. The winner receives 6 points, etc.

Category III: Points awarded to the first three riders. The winner receives 3 points, etc.

Category IV: The winner receives 1 point.

White Jersey – Under-23 Classification

Jersey sponsors: Pierre Baguette and Slovenske železnice The winner of the U23 classification is the rider under 23 years of age who records the lowest overall time in the race. The white jersey carries a special prestige, as it is an important recognition for young riders who are emerging on the world cycling stage. If the winner of the white jersey also wins the overall general classification, the achievement is considered even more significant.
