Recreational cyclists on the same route as the professionals
MyTour of Slovenia returns in its second edition, and this year once again offers recreational cyclists a unique opportunity to step into the world of professional cycling. The event will take place on June 20, 2026, as part of the Tour of Slovenia race, allowing participants to ride the same route as the professionals—just a few hours before them.
The 87-kilometer course, with 1,960 meters of elevation gain, runs from Kranjska Gora via Predel and Trenta all the way to one of Slovenia’s most iconic cycling climbs—the Vršič Pass, whose hairpin turns represent the ultimate challenge.
A special feature of the event is that participants ride in a true race environment—on closed roads, with police escort and technical support. Professional timekeeping during the climb to Vršič allows direct comparison with the times of professional cyclists, adding an extra competitive dimension to the event.
MyTour of Slovenia 2026 thus blurs the line between recreational and professional sport, offering an experience usually reserved for elite athletes. The organizers expect around 500 participants from Slovenia and abroad.
“We see MyTour as a natural extension of the Tour of Slovenia race, opening its doors to recreational cyclists as well. We want to enable them to experience the route and atmosphere of a professional race in a way that is safe, well-organized, and at the same time competitive. The climb to Vršič is one of the highlights of this year’s race, so we believe MyTour of Slovenia 2026 will be a special experience that participants will remember for a long time,” said Bogdan Fink, organizational director of the Tour of Slovenia.
The event is also being developed in cooperation with Pristop Sports, which as co-organizer contributes to the development and upgrade of the MyTour platform.
“MyTour is an excellent example of how a top-level sporting event can be developed into a platform that engages a wider community. Our goal is to create an experience that allows recreational riders as authentic a connection as possible with professional cycling—from the route itself to time measurement on the climb. At the same time, the project represents an important step for us in developing our own sports products and gaining a better understanding of users,” added Jernej Smisl, director of Pristop.
The competition is part of the broader Tour of Slovenia platform, one of the most important cycling races in the region, which reaches a million-strong audience each year and continually places Slovenia on the global sporting map.
Registration for MyTour of Slovenia 2026 is open until June 10, 2026, on the website www.mytour.si.
